Here in Brazil most families eat for dinner the same that was served for lunch. Some families prefer to have a snack by dinner time with sandwiches, crackers, cakes, juice or pop.

- White rice and beans (daily in our menu)
- Salad
- Meat (red and pork), chicken, fish
- Pasta (lasagne, canneloni, fettuccine, spaghetti)
- French fries
- Pies (palm heart, chicken, vegetables)
- Barbcue
- Virado de Feijão
- Farofa
- Maionese
- Feijoada



DESSERTS
It's just amazing the number of desserts that you can eat here, but we chose four that are often eaten.

- Pies (passion fruit, banana, lemon, strawberry, apple)
- Romeo and Juliet (Guava candy with Minas Cheese. This kind   of cheese is white and fresh)
- Cocada (coconut candy)
- Açaí fruit



Below you'll find some tradicional recipes for some of the dishes in the menu.

If you'd like to prepare some of them for lunch, we'd like to suggest cooking white Rice to eat with the Maionese (entree), Virado de Feijão, Farofa and a kind of meat of your choice.

These recipes are all very easy and fast to prepare.


MAIONESE
Maionese is a kind of salad, very common here as na entree or as a side dish to be eaten with lunch or with barbcue.

Ingredients
Potatoes
Carrots
Tomatoes
Green, yellow or red peppers
Green beans
Apples (optional)
Salt/lemon/olive oil /pepper
Mayonnaise
How to prepare
First you chop up the vegetables and put them to boil. Let them cool down and season with the salt, lemon and olive oil and pepper. Add the chopped tomatoes and apple.
Add mayonnaise and mix it all together.


FAROFA
This dish is typical from the Northeast of the country, but it's eaten everywhere.

Ingredients
Bacon
Eggs
Sausage
Corn
Peas
Olives
Breadcrumb

How to prepare
First fry the bacon and the sausage. Add the eggs, corn and peas. Mix everything well and add breadcrumb. Mix a little more and it's ready to eat!


FEIJOADA
Black beans at Mineiro Style (style from Minas Gerais State) or Mulato beans at Baiana Style (style from Bahia State), it doesn't matter! We have a lot of FEIJOADA in Brazil.

Considered a typical Brazilian dish, a very appreciated in other countries, our FEIJOADA was brought to here by the slaves hunger in the Colonial Period.

The slaves used to be submitted to daily unbearable efforts and they used to feed themselves with the leftovers from the BIG HOUSE, where their owners lived. The pork meat parts that werent used in the BIG HOUSE the tail, ears, feet and the chops were what the slaves had to eat. These ingredients, to which we add different kinds of sausage and dry meat is what we call FEIJOADA.

A VERY RICH MEAL

The slaves used to mix the pork meat with the beans while cooking, getting this way, a very nutritive meal to reassure their strengh.

FEIJOADA is often served with FAROFA (recipe included), couve and orange slices.


VIRADO DE FEIJÃO

This is a typical dish from Minas Gerais State, but as the Farofa, its cooked and eaten everywhere in the country.

Ingredients
Beans/Sausage/Bacon/Onions/Salt/ Breadcrumb

How to prepare
First you have to cook the beans very well until they're soft. After you fry the onions, sausage and bacon. Add the beans and mix. Add the breadcrumb and mix until consistent.


GUARANÁ
Guaraná is a typical fruit from Brazil, and 80% of the national production of this fruit is in the Amazon Rainforest.
Guaraná is mainly used to make a soft drink which takes the same name and its very well appreciated all over the country. It´s Brazilian children favorite soft drink.
