Initiatives

Leips project... building today the learning of tomorrow
LEIPS is coordinated by the Digital Youth Consortium of Rome in partnership with TechMaPP (University of Edinburgh), Atenea S.r.l and the departments of education, training and new technologies of Barcelona (Spain), Stockholm (Sweden) and Naestved (Denmark) Municipalities.
LEIPS's concept and activities are clearly aligned with the partners' strategic objective of promoting a new culture that uses Information and Communication Technologies to develop innovative learning environments and new learning opportunities for both schools' teachers and students.
The Leips project has a close association with the Global Junior Challenge and the Stockholm Challenge Award, the two largest challenge networks promoting the use of ICT in education.
Through the creation of multimedia didactical materials the project is building a course on Action-oriented Learning on ICT- based Innovation in Schools addressed to teachers and trainers, giving them guidance on how to manage the change associated with the use of ICT in schools, and particularly their integration into didactics.

Women and New Technologies

An innovative initiative of the Digital Youth Consortium realized in collaboration with the Municipality of Rome and Unione Industriali di Roma - Sezione Femminile Plurale.
The initiative consist of a seminary for the promotion of the managing presence of women in communication technology.
The operation aims to incite the interest of the participants about the peculiarities of the enterprises which operate in the field of the Information Communication Technology, as well as to promote opportunities for graduate young women to undertake a managerial career in the field of the activities included in the ICT field.
The workshop is addressed to degree women in technical, economic and sociological disciplines with an high marks of degree, a basic knowledge of English and of instrumental computer science.
