Regional
Advisor on Socio-Cultural Population Research
§
I worked for the Country Support Team on Latin America and the Caribbean
of United Nations Population Fund (CST-UNFPA-LAC) as Regional Advisor
on Socio-cultural Population Research (SCR) (category L-5), with
the institutional academic backup of FLACSO (Latin American Faculty
for Social Sciences).
My work consisted on giving technical assistance to 24 countries
in the Region, working with different government bodies (generally
pertaining to the Demographic, Gender, Health and Education sector
at the central and decentralized levels and especially the decision-making
levels), non-governmental organizations and academic institutions
in Latin America and Caribbean. I carried out technical mission
in all the countries of the region. I also monitored different programmes
and projects from the Head office in Santiago, Chile.

Before
working for UNFPA, I worked as Director of the Socio-anthropological
Area of the CEA (Centre for Advanced Studies) of the University
of Buenos Aires (UBA). This area, at the time, managed 12 research
projects and 25 teachers and researchers.
I was
a researcher for CONICET (National Scientific and Technical Research
Body), which has its academic headquarters in the CEA-UBA and I
also worked as the academic director of various projects.
Prior
to thism, I was an elected member of the ICAE (Executive Committee
of the International Council for Adult Education), with headquarters
in Toronto, Canada, representing Latin America and the Caribbean
(i.e.: 104 Adult Education and Popular Education NGOs from the whole
region, associated with the ICAE).

In 1985 I was General Secretary for the CEAAL (Latin American Council
for Adult Education) with headquarters in Argentina, as well as
General Coordinator of the III World Meeting on Adult Education
(ICAE-CEAAL - Buenos Aires, Argentina).
§
I was Director of the CIDIAE (Interdisciplinary Teaching and Research
Centre for Arts and Sciences) as well as their Main Researcher.
§
I work for ECLAC, Buenos Aires Office in Argentina. I worked for
the Rural and Indigenous Area of the project: "Educación
y Desarrollo para América Latina y El Caribe" (Education
and Development for Latin America and the Caribbean) - ECLAC/UNESCO/UNDP.
I have
also worked as consultant for UNESCO, UNICEF, ILO and UNOID, and
as researcher for FLACSO.
Publications
I have
published 10 books and over 70 articles for scientific magazines
in different countries and languages.

International programmes (Asia, Africa) with socio-cultural, ethnic
and gender aspects.
§ Participation in many specialized Thematic Workshops and
Trainings on Management, Population and Development, Gender with

Meetings at the highest levels and I have also coordinated numerous
Population Meetings, NGO Workshops and Academic Congresses in the
whole Region.

Region and from other Regions have invited me as teacher and lecturer.

the award is given yearly to a "professional women with an
outstanding academic background and social commitment"

Antropológicos, Históricos y Sociales de Sudamérica
(CEHASS).In 1986, the award was given an organic statute and began
to be granted yearly, as a recognition to whom that have carried
out important contributions to Social Sciencies and Latin American
Culture.

de Bi-alfabetización en Población y Salud Reproductiva,
en Bolivia.
§ 1999 y 2001: Numerosos Premios Internacionales por la Producción

de Bi-alfabetización en Csuco, Peru)
§ 2001: Grant Ford Foundation en premio a la labor realizada
en Población y Desarrollo, para llevar a cabo el tema de
investigación de mi elecion.
