ÖSTEN MÄKITALO
Dr. Mäkitalo has been responsible
for the development of mobile communication systems from the early
beginning. He has won a number of prestigius awards, as well national
as international, because of his contribution to the development of
several mobile systems, like NMT and GSM. He is Chairman of National
Swedish Research Program "Personal Computing and
Communication" and Chairman and boardmember in different
Universities Centers and Research Institutes. |

Academy of Engineering Sciencies (IVA).
Dr. Mäkitalo has during the years
held a number of different positions within Telia; e.g. Director of
R&D at Televerket Radio, President of Telia Research, CTO Telia
Group, Boardmember in several telecom companies. He has also been
Chairman in several International Working Groups.

Furthermore, important contributions have been made to the
development of many other Radio Communication
Systems (GSM, ERMES etc). |
