The Jury Members

Alvaro Galvis

ALVARO GALVIS

Alvaro Glavis studied systems and computing engineering in Bogota, Colombia before going on to a Master of Education in Pennsylvania, USA. He is mainly interested in  Playful, creative and collaborative learning environments, On line learning environments, strategic thinking as applied to educational and cultural initiatives, strategic uses of informatics in developing world organizations and Informatics as applied to education in the developing world. 

He has been Director of the Research and Development Laboratory for Educational Uses of Informatics at the Faculty of Engineering, Systems and Computing Department of the Universidad de los Andes, Santa Fe de Bogota, Colombia since 1992. He is also Director and chief editor of Revista Informaticą Educativa, the Journal of Educational Informatics in Bogota and has written several books regarding the use of technologies in education.
