This project actively encourages the emergence of a European identity for children. Sharing ideas concerning good food, from local, regional and international perspective, makes this a very imaginative and attractive initiative for children, parents and teachers. This motivation is helping participant groups open their minds and explore cultural aspects of all the European countries involved.

MentorGirls
The project MentorGirls was founded by a very special person - Leah Dawn. This project is a grass roots, community outreach program that connects women in industry with girls in communities and schools - online, locally, nationally and abroad. The vision of the project is to provide a hub of resources where any prospective mentor or volunteer can consider their contributions.
Leah Dawn is the inspiration behind this wonderful project. Her professional background was as a systems administrator working in multimedia studios, and the internet industry around the San Francisco Bay area. She has a special interest in end-user technology training and internet orientation.
By making this recommendation the jurors want in particular to recognise Leah's ability to overcome many personal and public challenges in developing a project such as MentorGirls. Not deterred by her own disability Leah provides an outstanding example of 'The Power of One". The importance of one person, being totally committed to seeing what she could do as a individual to make an impact in the community. Leah Dawn, thank you for your contribution in your own community and to the impact you have now made to global communities.

"Scuola Fuori" ("The School Outside")
This project has made excellent efforts towards social inclusion and to bring school outside of its usual boundaries. The project implemented by Direzione Didattica IVœ Circolo, Comune di Rovigo, has been created to help little children in hospital to keep closer contact with their families and friends, letting them feel in a context more "normal" than it is possible under these circumstances. By using ICTs such as Internet, visual-sound telematic links, and others, the project transform the school into a safe support for the patient-child. It also gives an opportunity to children faced with a suddenly broken relationship to keep pace with the broader world and continue to develop their own creativity.
